MY HOLY GRAIL CLEANSERS

I never knew why I had such a problem with cleansers. For years I was using Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. And I just excepted how my red face was. Then why my rheumatoid arthritis took hold of me and within two years, I could not work anymore. I had to take a long hard look at my lifestyle. The Liz Earle was just not working for me, and with my eyes too, I used the Eyebright. And both these products left my skin red and sore and out of pocket as the combined cost was £33. Then when I was travelling in Austria on my solo trip, I found a trial size of the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser next door to my hotel. I had thought that I was going to run out and this was cheap enough for me to buy and then used. But I never got around to using it. Until February of 2019, I found when sorting out my beauty cupboard. Any reader of this blog, will know I have a lot of beauty to useup and it lives in my cupboard. Then in the summer of 2019, when I was diagnosed with rosacea, I tried nearly every cleanser that I had a travel size to see if it effected my skin. I found two winners, that I will use alternative and they are both very affordable for my budget. I do not need expensive beauty products that do not work for me.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

‘Developed with dermatologists, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, effectively cleanses and hydrates without disrupting the protective skin barrier. This non-foaming lotion, with 3 essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid, gently removes dirt and oil while increasing skin hydration after just one use. Fragrance free formula is suitable for sensitive skin. A hydrating and soothing facial cleansing lotion for normal to dry skin on the face and body.’

La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser Sensitive Skin

‘A non-irritating lotion to remove makeup. Reduces risk of allergy or aggression Leaves skin clean, calm and comfortable. Excellent for very sensitive, delicate, intolerant or easily irritated skin To use: Apply to face with a cotton pad or fingertips. Mildly wipe off without rubbing. No need to rinse off.’

CLEANSERs

These cleansers I will used now always recommend and use as they work so well for me.

In the morning, I use a micellar water. This is because, my rosacea flares every morning if I use something else. I still have some micellar waters to use up. Once they are finished I will buy these alternative ones, the Bioderma Sensibio is fragrance free, so suitable even for the most sensitive of skin and my face had no problem with this. Hydrabio is more hydrating and I would like to try that. So I brought a travel size to see if it reacts to my skin first.

Elemis Smart Cleanse Micellar Water surprised me. It is so gentle but so effective and was amazing for my rosacea skin. What I also loved about this 50ml travel size. The top pops open so you can re-fill this for travelling. This is also on my shopping list. Very impressed with this cleanser.
