BEAUTY PRODUCT USEUP 2020 – PART SIX

Beauty product useup is continuing until I have emptied this cupboard in my home. I think I have enough for the next two years. I am still trying to find hard working, affordable products that I will curate into my new skincare routine. I just have too many products to finish. I had taken a different approach this year. So this is products that I have finished since February 2020.

February

beauty product useup

These I loved and some I have already repurchased. Namely the Elemis Pro Collage Marine Cream Ultra Rich which I have found perfect for winter weather in the UK. The La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra 8 is another product I have another as it is lovely to use and for me lasts a long time. I did like Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream, but have a similar product in my stash.

These I was not a fan of Elemis Apricot Toner and Pro Collagen Hydro Rose Mist both too perfumed for me. So will not repurchased. The Dr Jart Ceramidin Serum, Dermatological Ultra Calming Mist and Bioderma Sensibio Tolerance Plus I just was not a fan off. For the body, Korres in Neroli Iris was nice enough but have other favourites. And getting through the Molten Brown stash, and not repurchasing unless it is my favourite scent.

March

This month, I used up a lot. I had started a lot of new things in January. This time, I had things I loved, things ok but only buying if a deal or a different fragrance and things I did not like.

These I loved. The Simple Calming Moisturiser works on both my face and neck, price, product. Already have another in my beauty cupboard. The Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel was a surprise, did not react to my rosacea skin and I loved the smell. Already repurchased as was on special offer. A Florence Deep Cleansing Face Oil is lovely, and will be repurchasing when used up all the other oil cleansers in my stash. Love the The Body Shop Oils Of Life and Apothaka Facial Oils and will be repurchasing when used up all the facial oils I have.

These beauty product used up were ok but I would only repurchase if; Liz Earle Body Balm was the different scent, already repurchased with lavender and vetiver. Elemis Facial Oils, price individually is too much, so only if a good deal. Balance Me, a larger size product for the price. Pestle and Mortar, lovely but too expensive, so I would need to find a good deal. Elemis, another one nice, but only in a good deal.

Finally finished the face masks, that I will never buy again. And everything else, I just did not like at all. So will not be repurchasing any of these again.

April

These products I enjoyed. The Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich is perfect for the UK winter period. I hope to have this every winter. I also enjoyed the Pro Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream and Superfood Facial Oil. Will always buy these if on offer and already have multiples in my beauty stash. The Ren 3 in 1 Cleansing Water was a surprise, just as good as my current Elemis favourite. The BYBI Strawberry booster is lovely and I have another to finish.

The Elemis Rose Exfoliator was too perfumed and I did not like the product, the Pro Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment was too runny. Both very disappointing. Now starting on my eye sheet masks that I will never repurchase. The Revolution Skincare spray and Copper Peptide I did not like. The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factor did not work well on my skin. Glad I had tried it, but not for me. I will never buy any of these in the future.

May

Finished up some long term favourites, Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, A Florence Super Serum, Apothaka Barrier Support Serum, Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream. I am a bit angry that I dropped both Juno and Marine Oil and lost over three quarters of both bottles. New surprises were the Ren Evercalm Cleanser, Its Skin GF Effector, Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream and Doctor Dennis Gross Ultra Gentle Daily Peel. All of these I really liked.

The Elemis products were okay but when I was ill, they were not. I am not going to use products that upset my skin. I had more Superfood cleanser, Ginseng toner that I sold on. The Sunday Riley products were not for me either, I am glad I tried but will never buy these ones again. The Josh Rosebrook Hydrating spray and Revolution CBD oil not a fan of either.

June

Old favourites that I will always have in my beauty stash are the Liz Earle Eyebright, Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich and Apothaka SOS Recovery Nail and Cuticle Oil. New things I liked The Ordinary Azelaic Acid that worked so well on my redness. Elemis Pro Collagen Eye Renewal is a new favourite. Apothaka Comforting and Skin Quenching Moisturisers I liked. Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream and B Hydra Serum I enjoyed using. Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate For Night, I never used to get on with. I found some travel sizes and my face now really likes it.

These were the odds this month. The 200ml Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic was decanted into the spray bottle. The other bottles were used up. Two bottles of Indeed Labs Hydration serum were out of date as was the La Roche Posay Micellar Water. Not sure about The Inkey List Collagen Booster or Drunk Elephant Marula Oil yet.

Things I used and hated. Elemis did not like the product. Liz Earle again, did not like these new products. Drunk Elephant not a fan of the Whipped Cream. Revolution not a fan and why gold speckles in this ? Will never buy these again.

July

Things I enjoyed using up this month, a lot of Elemis. The micellar water is so good. And this large bottle lasted me six months. My favourite pamper products, the Papaya Enzyme Peel and Pro Collagen Marine Mask. And my long term favourite Pro Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich. Cerave pm lotion and Liz Earle eyebright are also things I liked. I tried new things this month, Sunday Riley Ice, which is lovely, Curel Face Cream and Clinique Super Smart serum, all that I really enjoyed. And so long term favourites from La Roche Posay, the sun cream and mist, which I have back ups off.

Things that was okay, unsure if I would repurchase. Liz Earle Superskin Face Serum, The Ordinary Amino Acids, Medik8 Clarity Peptides, Sunday Riley Luna, The Ordinary Pycnogenol, Cerave SPF 25. Just because of texture or price. Just on the fence. I do have a couple of back ups of some of these. So this should hopefully make my mind up.

These did not work for me. I have come to realisation, that I do not like really runny products. So Hado Labo Tokyo Lotion No 1 Super Hydrator. I struggled to finish this up and just hated the night repair. I am not a fan of a gel moisturiser, The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics, Lactic Acid, just did not work for me. The Medik8 C Tera and C Tera Eye, were fine but not my cup of tea. Pestle and Mortar Hydrate, Drunk Elephant C Firma, Clarins Hydra Essentiel and Gatineu Age Benefit all I did not like.

August

New favourites this month that I would repurchase. Liz Earle Eyebright, Botanical Body Wash and Superskin Concentrate Oil. Elemis Cleansing Oil, Superfood Facial Oil, Vital Veggie Mask and Pro Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich. La Roche Posay Soothing Toner, Hylamide SubQ Skin and Curel. Some always in my stash, some maybe repurchased.

These did not work for me. The Bioderma Micellar Water was not as good as the Elemis one. The La Roche Posay Toleriane worked on my sensitive cheeks when I had an illness, but pilled everywhere else I used it. I did not like the Elemis Superfood Jelly Exfoliator or Dr Dennis Cross C+ Collagen, it was the texture. And the Caviar 7 days treatment, my face and neck did not like.

September

Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cleanser and Aching Muscle Super Soak were the best products I have tried recently. They both worked so well for me. I also liked the Superfood day cream and Pro Collagen Tri Acid Peel sample I had. New discoveries were the Vichy Mineral 89 Eyes which I think is perfect for the summer. And Corsx Oil Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion which I really liked too. And Niod is turning into another brand I like a lot. I dipped my toes in a few products, the Copper Amino Isolate Serum is a potential repurchase. First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads surprised me, this has both Lactic and Glycolic Acid but they did not upset my skin.

The Ordinary were fine, but when compared with the brand flagship brand. I would rather spend my money on the better range. The hyaluronic acid pilled on my neck. The Amino Acid is too runny but I prefer Hylamide SubQ Skin. Revolution Niacinamide and Zinc nothing special. Liz Earle Superskin was joyless for me. Medik 8 C Tetra Cream, I did not like the texture of this, and it was not rich enough for my skin. I will never re buy any of these products.

October

Niod products were amazing and I hope to one day repurchase as I enjoyed them so much. I love the Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate for night is another product that I love and have more to use up. The Elemis facial oil, La Roche Posay mist and Liz Earle night oil are all old favourites. Another balance me eye cream that I like too

Things I will never repurchase. I did not like The Sanctuary cleansing oil or the The Body Shop Tahitian Tiare Body Wash at all. The Sunday Riley was fine, and I have a full size to finish up but will not repurchase as too expensive and not worth the money. The Liz Earle Superskin Face Serum did not work on my skin, so not worth buying again either.

November

Finished up 400ml of the La Roche Posay Toleriane cleanser, I will buy again but in a smaller size. This takes over six months to finish up and I still have another in my stash. Elemis Pro Collagen Oxygenating night cream, another favourite, I have three more of these in various sizes to finish up, but they do have a three year shelf life. Elemis Cleansing Micellar Water, another finished, this is the best one I have tried and can even use on my eyes. Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel is one of the few peels that works on my skin. Apothaka Calming Facial oil is lovely again. New things my face liked were Elemis Pro Radiance Cream Cleanser, Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules, Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich cream.

Corsx Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream was fine but not repurchasing as I preferred Dr Jart’s version. Vichy Toner had a terrible smell and I just did not like this. Revolution Latic Acid was fine but not buying again. Things that just did not work on my skin was Apothaka Gentle Enzyme Exfoliant and Elemis Pro Collagen Neck and Decollete Balm.
