ROMANIA, BRAN CASTLE

Bran Castle, situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Brașov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. We drove into the vicinity of Bran Castle and had our lunch before we started our tour. Our guide asked if we wanted to pay extra to visit the Medieval Torture Exhibit. The whole group agreed as when are you ever going to see these things up close. The tickets were brought and we ascended the castle.
The castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie and set out as they would be used.
We took the secret staircase from the first floor to the third floor.
And found some great views of the courtyard.
This scales were used to weigh women to see if they were a witch. We then made our way to see the medieval torture items.
