Dr Dennis Gross is the ‘King Of Acids’ I found out about through Caroline Hirons. He was originally a skin cancer researcher. Then decided to go into dermatology. To see the skin and how to treat it. Trained in NY, he has had his practice for over twenty five years. He has three versions of acid peels, that people rave about. After my disaster with glycolic acid   I got some samples to try with my rosacea skin. I will never buy a full size product unless I have tried it on my face.

His peels are a blend of acids, I was still nervous but I tried the Ultra Gentle ones first. Developed to gradually brighten and revitalise dulled, easily-offended skin types, these resurfacing and firming pads are saturated with a gentle, but an effective cocktail of exfoliating acids to refine and strengthen delicate complexions. An ideal introduction for those new to AHAs, this is also the perfect option for those whose skin is prone to reactivity and redness. This is a two-step revitalising and skin-conditioning treatment that gently eliminates dulling dead skin cells (without running the risk of a tantrum). ‘Step 1’ is infused with a trio of powerful but gentle exfoliating acids, including lactic, mandelic and willow bark extract. While ‘Step 2’ helps to limit the alpha hydroxyl activity, while infusing skin with balancing, soothing and anti-ageing actives. Very easy to use, once a day, massage step 1 pad on to clean, dry skin, until pad feels dry. Wait two minutes then follow with step 2 pad. Do not rinse after either step. Make sure to use sunscreen daily to help prevent photo-ageing. These worked fine, no tingling, no irritation. I introduced them weekly.

Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum I tried a sample. This silky, overnight serum is brimming with potent, anti-ageing powerhouses. With retinol – a vitamin A-derivative that’s proven to encourage cellular regeneration while inhibiting the enzymatic action that degenerates existing collagen – alongside ferulic acid, which enhances the age-defying retinoic benefits while protecting from damaging free radicals, Ferulic and Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum supports your cells’ own repair function. The results are dramatic – within just 28 days of continuous use you should notice a reduction in the depth of furrows, an improvement in texture and tone, as well as an increase in skin’s ‘bounce’ and firmness. I loved this serum, but the price is out of my budget. So not to be.

C+ Collagen Brighten & Firm Vitamin C Serum another sample. The effects of ageing and environmental aggressors deplete the skin’s energy, disrupting its normal functions. Like a recharging energy boost, Dr Dennis Gross’ C + Collagen Brighten + Firm Vitamin C Serum is supercharged with potent ingredients to fuel cells, increasing collagen production, accelerating repair and improving imperfections like dullness, dark spots, uneven texture and expression lines. Dr Dennis Gross’ proprietary energy complex – featuring CoQ10, superoxide dismutase, carnitine, and niacinamide – recharges skin so it can maximize vitamin C for accelerated repair and protection to help build collagen and brighten. In addition, collagen amino acids aid in strengthening skin’s fibres. In a consumer study, 92% of those tested saw an improvement in skin quality after 21 days. Was not a fan of this, so not repurchasing.

C+ Collagen Deep Cream another sample size. Promising a plumped, energised and bright complexion, Dr Dennis Gross’ C + Collagen Deep Cream combines state-of-the-art science with nourishing natural extracts. Starring a unique, proprietary energy complex, to restore and recharge cells. A potent, stabilised form of vitamin C, to reduce the formation of dark spots and fine lines. This cream works to brighten and energise lacklustre skin. As well as this, an intense concentration of hydrating, health-boosting oils extracted from camellia japonica seed, sunflower seed and rice bran provide rich moisture to repair skin’s barrier function and reduce transdermal water loss. Used morning and night ideally layered over your favourite serum. I really liked this, and this could be a possible repurchase.

Repurchases ?

As much as I like the retinol products, I can not afford them. And I also prefer to use prescription tretinoin. I am glad that I tried a few things from this brand. And will always keep my eye on this brand, and try get some things when they are the right price for me.
