Asia is a winter trips that my husband and I have discussed for our future. Fingers crossed, I will be able to do these. This first one is an Asia trip for a three to five months stay. We would start with a flight to Dubai. The reason for that is to split the journey. And that Emirates flies from London Stansted.
We live thirty minuites from Stansted. And we have flown with Emirates before. Our first trip to Asia we talked about in 2014, when we were in Phuket and how much we would like to spend more time in Asia exploring and not just a two week holiday. We would fly from the UAE to either go to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur first. My husband has not been to Singapore yet, so that is why is an option. I too would love more time there.
Then after finding our base for three to four months. I like the idea of an apartment in the city with good transport links and local facilities. I have not looked into this side yet. We have only talked about where, not the logistics. Anyhow, we would either stay in the first or second country after leaving UAE. They we would using AirAsia who are a Malaysian low-cost airline. They operate scheduled domestic and international flights to more than 165 destinations spanning 25 countries. Being based in Malaysia, we could do lots of little trips like these, firstly to see the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Laos I still have not got too yet either. I have seen two types of tours, so on the fence what I would want to do, or what I will be able to do. We could easily go there for a week from our base.
Brunei Darussalam I do not know much about, so that could just a short trip. This could be added to our Malaysian adventure.
Indonesia is top of my list as I would love to explore the islands further. And do this at our pace not a tour pace. That is not to say that I would not book a tour but who knows our future.
The Philippines interests me. I think I would feel very peaceful here.
Then we fly onto Shanghai but would have to make sure it is the right month. I have no intention of visiting during our winter period. Between December and March are just too cold for me. Now I know that China, South Korea and Japan have similar weather patterns to us.
A city break to Taipei, Taiwan. But I would have to avoid the winter period, and either add this in either November or March and have this as another short break.
I still would like to introduce Beijing to my husband and be able to do the Great Wall again. I loved this so much.
Then onto South Korea. I have been introduced to Korean K Pop music and I actually enjoy listening to some of the songs. Even though I have no idea what they are singing about. And I have been using Korean beauty products. So I think this country in Asia is going to be perfect for me.
Japan is another dream trip. But this might be a different trip. My friend has mentioned that she would like to go. My husband has no interest in Japan. So we might fly home. I have seen some cruises that tour around Asia, so I could always use one of them to travel between countries. Everything is up for discussion. It will depend when we actually do this trip. I just love Asia so much. I think I have visited this the most after Europe. I can not wait to do this experience. I hope and pray that I am well enough to enjoy all the sights and people I would meet during this winter trip to Asia.
