Theater of the Sea is one of the oldest marine mammal facilities in the world. The McKenney family still owns and operates the park today. They opened in 1946. We had driven passed this on our way to our hotel in the Florida Keyes.
Theater of the Sea is a marine mammal park located in the Village of Islamorada, Florida, United States. It is a tourist attraction located on Windley Key in the Florida Keys. We decided to visit, and found it home to dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles, tropical and game fish, sharks, stingrays, crocodiles, alligators, marine invertebrates, and birds.
We watched a dolphin show. Before finding the the sea lion show.
Although old fashioned, that is part of its charm. And it was nice place to visit for a few hours. Your admission includes dolphin, sea lion, parrot and guided marine life shows, access to the lagoon side beach, and a 5-minute bottomless boat ride around the dolphin lagoon.
Theatre of the Sea is open 365 days a year. This is the official site
