ITALY, ROME, THE COLOSSEUM

When I first visited Rome I wanted to visit the Colossuem but it was closed so I could only see the structure. Now I experienced going inside and it was amazing to actually be there. This was another packed busy hot place to visit. And it was protected by both the army and the police. The road was even closed off. We entered through the restored areana floor, they have made since my last visit to show how it used to look.
We were told about the history and glory of the Roman Empire. And it was fascinating. I did suffer with mobility issues but lucky for me I managed to get to a higher tier via the lift.
I would so recommend visiting this site if you are in Rome, but be warned it is very very busy and best to pre-book your ticket. This ancient Roman gladiatorial arena is such an unique place to see. I am so pleased I managed to visit this despite my health. I am still struggling with my rheumatoid arthritis. It is now affecting my knees and walking around the Colosseum was very challenging for me. I was pleased to find a couple of lifts for people with mobility issues. That way you do not miss out on anything.
