ESSEX, WITHAM, CROFTERS

Crofters in Witham, Essex is a lovely place to visit. They claim to be Witham’s oldest independently owned restaurant. And in the age we live in, where a lot of towns all have the same restaurants and shops. It is nice to find somewhere different. I went there to have a long overdue catch up with my friend. We arrived late, but they still accommodated us. And we were shown to our table. We were too busy catching up that our server came twice to take our order. I order the sirloin steak baguette with chips and it was delicous. My friend ordered a sirloin steak of the bistro menu and I forgot to take a photo. The venue is an old wine bar.  And although a little dark, it is a really nice place to visit. Taking from the Crofters website;

“dishes are rustic modern European in character and the whole place feels somewhere between old English wine bar and French brasserie, but with a twist”
