COLCHESTER ZOO, ESSEX

Colchester Zoo was a nice place for our family get together during the summer holidays. I went with my mum, sisters, nephews and niece and in August and it was a hot hot day. My sisters both having children have Zoo Passes, so no queuing for us. And we walked straight in. Colchester Zoo is privately owned and does not receive any external funding. It really is a lovely local zoo and I had not been here for over three years .
We arrived within half an hour after it opened, but the temperature was already in the mid 20 degrees and a lot of animals were asleep. That is what we found as we walked around seeing all the different animals. The zoo has over 249 species found over sixty acres of parkland and lakes.
My friend was gifted a voucher to be a zoo keeper for the day and she loved it.
Colchester Zoo is really lovely to visit. I would recommend anyone to visit this place. Just take your own lunch, there is plenty of seating so you will always find a good spot ! More information can be found here
