PORTUGAL, CASCAIS, SENHORA DA GUIA

This hotel was booked due to my friends having their wedding here. The hotel is a five star boutique hotel on the outskirts of Cascais, Portugal. And I do mean the outskirts, to get into the town, its a two mile walk or a 5 euro taxi cost. The hotel does has a minibus, but I never saw anyone use it. We had hired a car, although Cascais is very easy to get to from Lisbon. You can get a taxi from Lisbon airport that could cost Euros 40 or take the metro, the train and then a taxi. Journey time by car from Lisbon airport to the hotel was about 30mins.
We had booked a superior room with a kingsize bed, balcony and sea view. And I was unfortunately disappointed. We did have a huge room, at the back of the hotel – behind both buildings in my second picture. With a small terrace and tiny sea view. In hindsight I wished I had not bothered to upgrade my room and just booked a classic sea view rather than a superior sea view. And in addition, being away from the main building, it also meant that the wi-fi did not work. If you are going to say you are five star hotel – in my opinion, everything has to be ticked off. And this was not a five star hotel for me at all.
This was however, the perfect hotel for the wedding. It was beautiful and was well planned. However, it would be unlikely that I would ever return here.
