After our tour of the Castle District, we arrived for our hour river cruise down the Danube River and saw all the sights and it was a lovely experience. I would recommend this to anyone. You take a seat, you are asked for your drink order. Pick up the headphones and select your language and sit back. And I really enjoyed this. There is so much to see on both sides of the river.

And this was an unexpected sight to see. But you can tour this way too !

As we got off the cruise. That’s when we saw hundreds of the migrants walking across the bridge. We then went for a bit of dinner before deciding to continue sightseeing. We planned to find the Shoes by the Danube – the sixty pairs of bronze shoes modelled on footwear from the 1940’s commemorate those who were shot into the Danube by the Hungarian Nazi’s.

This was unveiled in 2005 and has been something that I was determined to see. It’s a very powerful reminder of a tragic event.
