We had booked a trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina, our first stop was  Medugorge, which is the third largest religious worship in the world. The tour was booked via Viator this was fulfilled by a company called Super Tours. Our driver Ivan picked us up at 7.15 am and after collecting the rest of the group (no more than nine people). We were off to Bosnia. We drove along the coastal route and I will be posting about this soon. We stopped off a gas station after crossing the border into Neum, Bosnia’s only coastal town. I remember Ivan telling us that a new bridge is being built so that Croat’s do not have to go through Neum.  We arrived inMedugorge

We could not even get access to the inside of the church at Medugorge as it was packed. There was even a service in the church grounds.

And what I was surprised about was how many shops selling hundreds of religious items. The sheer volume of it was scary.

Medjugorje, a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been the site of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary since 24 June 1981. Various officials of the Catholic Church have attempted to discern the validity of these Marian apparitions in order to provide guidance to potential devotees and pilgrims
