New challenge. A year of budget skincare, is this even possible. My skin is thanks to my autoimmune medication has systemic dryness and dehydration. In addition to rosacea. I have to use very rich unperfumed products through most of the year and now I know what I need to use and buy. By budget skincare I mean. Products found on the high street or online that fall under budget. I can use La Roche Posay, Simple, Elf, Curel, Olay, L’Oréal Paris, First Aid Beauty, The Inkey List, Deciem, Beauty Pie, Versed, Ren Skincare, The Body Shop, Vichy and Garnier. Elemis, a brand I do like, but only if the product, price or deal is what I am after. And anything else I find on the high street or in supermarkets too. What did surprise me, is how many things I still had after last year. I will also be attempting a no buy on my skincare until my stash is finished. Unless there is a special deal I normally find online. This challenge will run from 1st April 2022 until 30th March 2023.
Cleansers
Wearing SPF all year, I use a gentle cleanser in the morning with my eyebright until this is finished. Then in the evening, I will use a cleansing balm to remove SPF and then a second cleanse with the gentle cleanser. These are what I have to use up this year. The Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Milk Cleanser was first used in 2022.
The cleansing balms to be used are these, the Ren is also good for taking off SPF, so I might use that for that purpose.
Toners/Mists/Essences
Serums
These are hydration, vitamin C, Q10 that will be used in the morning, with the evening products of both oils and serums to be finished up. A good question will be to repurchase. As new moisturisers have these ingredients.
Exfoliation
Peel pads I have been struggling with. My skin gets irritated if I use too many or too often. But then with every illness I get, it eventually makes my skin sore and that is when I can only use La Roche Posay Ultra Sensitive products.
Eye Creams
These are both day and night ones that I am not sure on still. I want to finished these up and possible never buy again.
Moisturisers
These are what I have to use up and a good chance I will not repurchase any as I am liking the enhanced moisturisers with added SPF from Elemis and La Roche Posay. The retinol skincare is always used in the evening.
These spf hybrids have a long use by date, up to 2023/2024. I will be using them last.
SPF
These will hopefully finished and not brought again, as I will used the SPF moisturisers.
I can not wait to finished these and hopefully will not have another challenge to finish skincare that I will never hold onto again.
