So I needed a hotel close to the O2 in Greenwich and I did not want to pay a fortune for one night stay and came across the Holiday Inn Express. This is located in the Royal Docklands. But it is less than five minutes walk from the Canning Town Underground station. And a mere ten minutes walk to the Emirate Cable Car and about fifteen to the Excel Conference Centre. This is a budget hotel, and we paid £119 for our nights stay but if we had not pre-booked, we could have just paid only £65 for the night. Which I felt was the correct price for this hotel. You do get a free breakfast, this starts from 6.30 am. I had to miss this, as I had to be on a train out of London to get back to the east.

And this was our view. I was attending a gig at the O2, and that is why I needed the night stay.

This area is ripe for re development. I wonder if I ever returned if this would be changed. It does need this that is for sure. The stay at the Holiday Express was adequate it was just shame that I had to leave early to be at work at 8am in Chelmsford as my boss would not give m the morning off.
