The Botanical Garden in Copenhagen was what we came across next. As it was still early and a long queue to get into Rosenborg Palace, we decided to see the Botanical Garden first. We crossed over the road instead. The University of Copenhagen Botanical Garden, usually referred to simply as Copenhagen Botanical Garden, is a botanical garden located in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. It covers an area of 10 hectares and is particularly noted for its extensive complex of historical glasshouses dating from 1874. The Botanical Gardens have 27 glasshouses. The most notable is the 3000-square metre conservatory complex from 1874. The Palm House at its centre is 16 metres tall and has narrow, cast-iron spiral stairs leading to a passageway at the top. Plants include a palm from 1824 and a fine collection of cycads, some of which are more than 100 years old. I would to go back and explore The Botanical Garden further.

The sign made me smile, no bicycles, no dogs, no jogging and then we came across this one, no sitting on the grass !

This was a lovely garden to walk through. And we did walk into the Botanical House but you could not get any pictures due to the temperature. It was very warm in there !

The Botanical Garden is part of the Natural History Museum of Denmark, which is itself part of the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Science. It serves both research, educational and recreational purposes.
