WANDERLUST: NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand is a dream trip. Due to the distance from the UK, I would visit this country only once. And this will be hopefully on my around the world trip. After flying into Auckland and spending a few days exploring things like the Sky Tower and the revolving restaurant there. We would also go to the summit of Mount Eden, as it is one of the highest volcanoes in the city. We would then drive to Matamata, I found a tour called the Trilogy Experience. We would go to Hobbiton Movie Set, the picturesque setting for the Shire that featured in the Sir Peter Jackson directed films, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. This tour includes Te Puia, the home of Maori culture and cuisine. We are to be mesmerized by the world famous geyser Pohutu under the stars following a delicious indigenous meal – which does worry me a little. We also will be visiting the magical Waitomo Glowworm Caves under a galaxy of glowworms and to the ancient Ruakuri Cave, a spectacular cave full of legends and tales. I can not wait to experience this !
I would love to visit the Bay of Islands with its 144 islands and stay at Matauri Bay. We both love to snorkel and this place looks amazing !
Then onto to Taupo primarily to eat here. When are you ever going to eat Macdonalds in a plane – I saw this online years ago and I am so going to eat here !
Then we would drive down to Wellington and spend time exploring the city. Before arriving in Christchurch. Where again we would explore the city. Then we would drive south to see the Blue Penguin Colony in the wild.
And then a drive over to Queentown. We would explore and then first catch a scenic flight to Milford Sound, do the Milford Sound cruise, and then fly back to Queenstown. Such a tour would not only allow us to see the mountains around Queenstown from above but also allow us to enjoy the mountain peaks and waterfalls of Milford Sound on a boat. And I would love to visit the underwater world at the Milford Underwater Observatory.
I am expecting to spend about two or three weeks in New Zealand maybe longer and I can not wait !
