SPAIN, MADRID, PETIT PALACE PLAZA ESPANA

I picked the Petit Palace Plaza Espana as I wanted to be close to the Royal Palace. And this hotel was very easy to find once we had left the metro. I thought that it was quiet street of the Grand Via. And it was less than an ten minuite walk from both the Opera and the Royal Palace. The room was lovely, with egyptian cotton sheets, welcome sweets, an amazing power shower.
The only problem we had was the noise. My husband slept well on the first night, me not. Second night, I slept well and he did not and our last night, we both did not sleep well. This was due to the lack of soundproofing on the windows. Madrid is a 24 hour city. But I did not expect to hear the noises that we did. My husband even asked if we had left the doors open, as you can hear people conversations – it was that clear. We even left one morning at 6.30 am to get to the over side of Madrid for a tour and the amount of people that we still about. Drunk and very loud. But it was only a weekend break and this was my last one !
