Why I travel and where I travel too is a question I get asked often. And my answer to this is blogs, books, films and television shows. Games Of Thrones and Vikings, are just a couple that come to mind.

My travel year of 2015 was a particular unexpected Games Of Throne year, taking in Belfast, Dubrovnik and Iceland. And that was so much fun !

This is an old photo from 2001, I took this on a tour of Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in California. I had since recognised them from Roswell, Star Trek, NCIS and A Big Bang Theory to name a few of the shows that have filmed here.

And I also loved visiting various filming locations of Sherlock in London. But also Harry Potter and anything else that takes my interest.

Documentaries

And I love watching documentarys like Levison Wood’s walking series. Last year he walked 1800 miles from Mexico to Colombia. And it was a fascinating series.

And the same with Simon Reeves documentaries too. Last year’s Columbia one another interesting piece. I first found him back in 2003 when I watched the series ‘Welcome To The Stan’s’ travelling to Central Asia exploring Kazakhstan, by the Russian border, east to the Chinese border, south through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to the edge of Afghanistan and west to Uzbekistan and the legendary Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Bukhara. His work is fascinating and I always try and watch them.

And if an incredible deal comes up for a trip with Kuoni and my husband and I both want to do it. Then that is a no brainer. So they we go. It could be any thing that peaks my interest. I just know that I have an ever growing countries list.
