MY YEAR OF HARRY POTTER TRAVEL

I have been a fan of the Harry Potter book series for some time. From Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (book 4), my friends and I would plan a weekend in London. Do you remember the midnight launches ? We would be there getting our copy and then going back to our hotel room and then reading it all through the night !
And recently, I have been to various places in the UK where the films were filmed.
Durham Cathedral – Hogwarts cloisters and Professor McGonagall classroom
Alnwick Castle – where they learned to ride a broomstick
Kings Cross train station – There you’ll find a trolley disappearing into the magical realm through a wall marked ‘Platform 9 ¾’. Outside you’ll see the Neo-Gothic facade of St Pancras where the Weasley’s magical Ford Anglia takes off.
Reptile House at London Zoo where Harry found he could talk to snakes.
Oxford, Bodleian library was used as the Hogwarts library and the elaborately vaulted Divinity School became Hogwart’s infirmary.
Located in Bull’s Head Passage in Leadenhall Market this opticians shop was the film location used for the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron.
I went to Hogwarts in the Snow at Watford and I loved it. It was the first time, I saw the Dark Arts section and the Hogwarts Express and also introducing some other members of my family to the experience. It was a lovely Christmas treat.
Then I spent a day visiting the House Of Minalina to see the exhibition
And was so lucky to get tickets to see the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child play which was amazing and I just loved it so much !
I hope to go Scotland to explore and ride the Jacobite Steam Train
I still have not visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – I know there are parks in Orlando, Osaka and soon to be Los Angeles – I would love to visit and one day I will !
