MEDIK8 – WHAT I HAVE USED ON MY ROSACEA SKIN

Medik8 UK is a British brand that I found in 2019. I was looking for products for my rosacea skin. This brand offers 100% paraben free formulations that are compatible with your skin so you can target fine lines and wrinkles, acne and pigmentation issues, even if your skin is sensitive. Calmwise Soothing Cleanser and Calmwise Serum were the first to be tried. This products were finished last autumn. I just did not get on with them. The cleanser I did not like the foam texture or the orange smell every time I used this. The serum was fine but did not do much for the redness and damaged barrier repair that I had at that time. I never repurchased these products.
Having read good reviews about Clarity Peptides, that was next to be used. This nourishing and clarifying peptide infused serum penetrates the skin immediately with its lightweight and milky texture, helping create a luminous complexion. Crystalide peptide promotes the skin’s natural reflectance, smooths the skin and protects its natural transparency. Combined with 10% niacinamide and zinc PCA, the soothing actives visibly smooth and perfect the skin whilst stimulating collagen production. This multi-benefit serum suits all skin types and adjusts to each individual need to bring out your most nourished, translucent skin. This I used every evening and I really liked this. No irritation, no problems. This lasted me three months and a possible repurchase.
Next was the C-Tetra serum. Utilising the antioxidant power of vitamin C and E, the hydrating serum brightens and smooths the complexion, while fighting free radicals to reduce visible signs of ageing. With an uplifting sweet orange scent, it is the perfect way to kick-start your morning skincare. The formula sinks into skin quickly, leaving behind a soft and glowing complexion. This felt to my like a dry oil to me. Very silky, and as lovely as this felt. I think I prefer a cream or pump bottle rather than a dropper. So will try their cream products and see what I actually prefer.
C-Tetra Cream contains tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, a super-stable form of vitamin C that boosts the antioxidant defence levels in the skin. Ever the multi-tasker, it also stimulates collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the complexion plump, radiant and youthful. As a lipid-soluble form of vitamin C, it is able to penetrate the skin’s defensive lipid barrier with ease, delivering benefits deep within the skin. Vitamin C and vitamin E work together synergistically as ‘network antioxidants’, boosting the cream’s overall antioxidant effect. C-Tetra Cream also harnesses superior hydration power by combining hyaluronic acid and glycerin with Medik8’s signature Moisture Magnets™. These draw water from the atmosphere and from lower layers of the skin to leave the complexion supple and moisturised.
Then I wanted to see if the some of the eye products worked. I brought both the Vitamin C eye and retinol eye for an morning and evening experiment. The vitamin C is lightweight and fast-absorbing, this powerful serum smoothes fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area for an awakened and rejuvenated appearance. Enriched with 100% stable vitamin C and vitamin E to prevent free radical damage and minimise irritation. These 2 antioxidants work together to boost their overall power, while recharging each other to ensure that every last drop of the formula is a powerful as the first. The retinol eye is designed to complement skin’s nightly regenerative cycle, Retinol Eye TR™ firms and rejuvenates skin while you sleep so you can wake up with refreshed, youthful-looking eyes. Harnessing the power of 0.1% retinol combined with skin-nourishing antioxidant vitamin E, it improves skin texture and minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Formulated with Time Release Technology, the light, fast-absorbing serum allows retinol to be delivered gradually throughout the night into the deeper layers of the skin. This ensures maximum results without overwhelming or irritating skin. For the price you pay, this is specialist eye treatments. I am on the fence if I would buy again. The bottles are 7ml.
Hydra B5 intense I brought during Black Friday sales. It is very expensive, but was amazing for my skin. Not something I can afford all the time. But every Black Friday, I hope to pick one up and use this during the winter period like I did in 2020/21. My skin really enjoyed this.
Repurchases
So would I buy any again ? No I would not, I am streamlining my skincare. Less is more. I would recommend you to try and see if you find products that you love. But I did not. It was not meant to be. But I will keep my eye on this brand. You never know.
