THE NETHERLANDS, AMSTERDAM

I was in Amsterdam for less than 48 hours and these are a few images from my stay. At the airport
At Centraal Station – that my mum mentioned was like St Pancras Station – similar but not quite ! St Pancras is unique !
Anne Frank’s house – that we did not get the chance to visit as the queue was too long by the time we got there. If you wanted to visit I would suggest go early !
This is the view from across the canal – and that shows the queue and that is probably only half of it as it sneaked all the way around the side. The Anne Frank statue around the corner from the house.
Just one picture of the numerous stalls that were selling bulbs and there were numerous !
Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ capital, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths.

Beautiful pictures, brought back some lovely memories from my trip last year 🙂 The Anne Frank house is fabulous, but if you go again definitely book in advance – saves all the queuing and early mornings!
Thank you Emily – hope to return – just have so many places that I would like to vist first !
