ICELAND, REYKJAVIK, THINGS WE SAW AND DID

So with a couple of days in Reykjavik, Iceland these images are just a few things we saw. What I did not bank on was the bad weather. And this also meant that we did not get to see much at all. I knew that we were going to experience light showers. But this was actually heavy rain, strong winds and freezing cold temperatures. This meant exploring the city very difficult. And within thirty minutes of being outside, we were both soaked. Not a nice feeling at all !

This is the City Hall and the lake called Tjörnin. I can imagine that in the summer, that it would be a lovely spot.

This is the the Hallgrimskirkja Church. We went up the lift to view the city from the church tower.

SUNVOYAGER

This is the Sun Voyager sculpture, something that I really wanted to see and it is beautiful.

HARPA

This is the Harpa Concert and Conference hall, and what I liked was the building, it is so beautiful inside and outside. We saw visit the Iceland Expo Pavilion. There we saw the film, which is fifteen minutes long,  and presents Iceland in all its diversity. It showed a film showing footage from both city and nature is projected onto the four walls and the ceiling of the pavilion, together forming a cube that surrounds its guests. This made me want to return to Iceland in warmer months, as I really can not do a cold holiday again !
