WHAT HAVE I DONE THIS MONTH – LIFE UPDATE

So a little life update. I was due to go to the Chinese Magic Lantern at Chiswick House and a few other things including celebrating my wedding anniversary but I have been signed off due to my tendonapathy flaring up in my right arm. So I have been at home, dosed up to my eyeballs with pain relief. Having physio containing acupuncture like this every week for the next six weeks.

Thanks to Sky Box Sets. I have been able to watch the following;

Fortitude is a town in the Arctic that is unlike any other place on Earth. Surrounded by the picturesque polar landscape and filled with residents who form a tight-knit community, the town has never been the site of a violent crime. Until now……I really enjoy this, there was only twelve episode in both seasons and I would recommend this. And it has really got my interested in visiting Greenland and the Arctic which is a bit alarming as I do not like COLD holidays at all !

Wealth, influence and corruption collide in this drama set in New York. Shrewd U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades is embroiled in a high-stakes game of predator vs. prey with Bobby Axelrod, an ambitious hedge-fund king. To date, Rhoades has never lost an insider trading case — he’s 81-0 — but when criminal evidence turns up against Axelrod, he proceeds cautiously in building the case against Axelrod, who employs Rhoades’ wife, psychiatrist Wendy, as a performance coach for his company. Wendy, who has been in her position longer than Chuck has been in his, refuses to give up her career for her husband’s legal crusade against Axelrod. Both men use their intelligence, power and influence to outmaneuver the other in this battle over billions. Again, another short series only twelve episodes. And I much prefer these shorter runs. Again, another good series to recommend. The cat and mouse between the two leads is really good.

A crime drama mixed with healthy doses of the surreal, this series is about FBI Agent Dale Cooper, who travels to the small logging town of Twin Peaks to solve the murder of seemingly innocent high schooler Laura Palmer. I loved this series when it aired in the 90’s. But rewatching, I had mixed feelings I could not remember what it was that I loved about it. At least I am up to speed when it returns in May. And it has also added Washington State to my travel list !

On Netflix, Riverdale has started. Based on the Archic comics, it is a subversive take on Archie and his friends. Exploring small town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath its wholesome facade. I am only five episodes in so far, but I am enjoying it.

John Wick Chapter Two was really good. This sequel was well written and I can not wait for the next chapter.

Fifty Shades Darker was awful. I am so amazed at how much they cut out of the book and will not be watching the last one.

And I finally got round to seeing this. Mind you it was in the middle of the night when the pain of my arms woke me up and I could not get back to sleep. It was not bad and good introduction to another world in the Marvel universe. So that is my life update, I just want this pain managed better. Lets hope I get answers soon.
