Oil Cleanser is what I use every evening when I wear SPF. I double cleanse in the evening. A deep cleanse is never more essential than in the evening, although, it’s more than just a way to remove post work make up if you wear it. Throughout the day, airborne bacteria and pollution is attracted to your skin, and if they aren’t washed away properly, they could potentially contribute to ageing, pigmentation and breakouts. And who wants this ? It involves using a cleansing oil, balm or micellar water to break down make-up, SPF and sebum on the surface of your skin first, then following it with a deeper water-based cleanse. I use these holy grail cleanser for the second part of my double cleanser. But you have to make sure that you find the best cleansers for your skin type, you could be Oily, Dry, Sensitive. I found the easiest way to test was to get travel size of the brands you want to try and that way you can test them. They lasted me up to three weeks of use. Finding a oil cleanser is my next goal. I have trailed both independent and conglomerate brands. These are my favourites from what I have been testing.
Apothaka
I have used both oil cleansers from this brand. The oil to milk cleansers have been carefully formulated to effectively break down make up, sunscreen and grime, and they rinse fully to leave skin feeling clean, soft but not tight. Choose between the fragranced option (rebalancing), or unfragranced (comforting) – which is ideal for sensitive skin / skin that doesn’t tolerate fragrance. When I was diagnosed with rosacea, these were what helped my skin recover.
Elemis Nourishing Omega Rich Cleansing Oil
Blended with over 90% natural oils, this Cleansing Oil has been formulated to ensure it maintains the skin’s delicate acid mantle at its optimum pH 4.5 – 5.5. Maintaining this optimum level ensures that the beneficial microflora on the skin are kept in balance to keep skin healthy. With Winter Rose oil, rich in Omega-9, and skin-conditioning Chia seed it effectively removes make-up whilst maintaining the skin’s natural barrier. Vitamin-rich Pomegranate ensures that skin is left looking healthy and radiant.
Deviant Enzymatic Cleansing Oil
A decadent oil-to-milk cleanser that effortlessly removes makeup and daily impurities, without stripping the skin of its protective moisturising factors. Camellia and Perilla nourish and soften, whilst Papaya and Pineapple fruit enzymes lightly exfoliate and brighten the skin.
These three with always be in my skincare rotation. They work so well on rosacea, peri menopausal, tretinoin skin. I would recommend them to anyone to use.
