ESSEX, ROAD TRIP TO SEASIDE

So my husband suggested a road trip to the seaside. And one Sunday we ended up at Clacton Pier. We have not been here for over twenty years. So we went off to explore. The amusements have not changed at all.
And when I saw this ride, I knew my husband who is MotoGP mad was going to have a go !
And then we made down to the pier. The beach was pretty empty but we were down there early.
The pier has not changed at all. Obviously rides and amusements have moved in.
The Clacton Lifeboat House from the pier
Fishermen on the pier.
The wind farm which you can just make out.
These are the Jaywick Martello Tower, which now functions as an arts, heritage and community venue.
I really wanted some of this rock. But we settled for hot doughnuts which we eat so quickly and didn’t get a photo off. They were delicious !
We then drove onto Walton On The Naze, with the aim to walk the longest pier. It is only a ten minute drive away. But it was packed with traffic and we could not find a good parking spot. So we drove to the Naze Tower.
It was a lovely drive and we are thinking of visiting some more beaches in Essex. Who knows where we will end up !

Clacton and Walton are some of my favourite memories from being a child! Brings back so many memories and now I live close by to the towns!
Thank you Lottie – a blast from my past too – some things never change !
