Budapest is a beautiful city and there is so much there that you just can not stop yourself photographing when walking around. We walked to see St Stephens Basilica, This is a beautiful church.
And then walked down Andrassy Avenue a boulevard which dates back to 1872. It is lined with Neo-renaissance mansions and townhouses. This was recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. This is the Opera House.
We continued up to Heroes Square and then viewed the Szechenyi Baths.
Before taking a metro down to the harbour to attempt to walk to the Liberty Statute. We walked across the Elizabeth bridge with a very strong wind and this was hard work !
We walked up to the Statue of St Geliet and in the heat, this was not easy.
We then decided to walk back to our hotel taking in some sights. And we found for the first time, the British Embassy. I have never found it, in any country that I have visited before. I just loved walking around this city. It is definitely one of my favourites.
And I ended my day dropping my phone – smashing the screen, the day before my contract ends.
