BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, POCITELJ

After leaving Mostar, our last stop before returning to Croatia was at Pocitelj. This is another UNESCO world heritage site. The walled town of Pocitelj evolved over the period from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries. Architecturally, the surviving stone-built parts of the town are a fortified complex, in which two stages of evolution may be observed: medieval, and Ottoman. My husband walked to the top so he is to be thanked for getting the following images. I chose to stay closer to the ground. And completely missed the only cat that he saw.
