BOOKS READ RECENTLY – MAY TO JULY

Back with another selection of books that I have been reading. Some of these I have had since 2013 and just not got around to reading them. This is a long term goal, these are my others.

Books Read May to July

The first book I read was Deadfall. This is book 19 of another series I have been reading for years. Set in New York. I did enjoy this latest one.

A wild heart beats within New York City. Amid concrete and skyscrapers, the Wildlife Conservation Society works to preserve and protect the animal kingdom both within and beyond the borders of the five boroughs. But dangerous creatures don’t always have claws and fangs, as Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper and NYPD detectives Mike Chapman and Mercer Wallace know all too well. Predators lurk close to home, and in the aftermath of the shocking drive-by murder of an important city employee – someone Alex has worked with for years – the trio must discover who the bigger snake is: the killer or the victim.

Investigations into the death provide more questions than answers, as a tangled mess of secrets slowly comes to light. From bribes to secret societies, from big-game hunting to the illegal animal trade, from New York City zoos to behind closed doors in government buildings, Alex will have her work cut out for her if she wants to uncover the truth – and uphold the integrity of the office she has so proudly served.

Then I read Death is Not Enough, book six of the Baltimore Series. And the beauty of being unemployed and with ill health. I spent a couple of days just reading this and finishing within 48 hours. Can not wait for the start of a new series next year. I always buy this author as soon as they are released.

Another favourite author Sharon Bolton, this I struggled with. I just did not enjoy this as much as her previous novels. But then you can not like everything can you.

I then started Alex Kava’s Before Evil. Seeing this listed on Amazon was good for me. This is another thriller series. And this book goes back to the beginning of Maggie O’Dell career.

Then while I was having a clear out, I have found some books I still have not read. Michael Connelly, Mickey Haller series. I read the first two, The Lincoln Lawyer and The Brass Verdict.

Then Vince Flynn newest and I read this so quickly. I just really enjoy them so much. Another author I get as soon as they are released.

Then onto a JD Robb, book 45 of an ongoing murder series. I do enjoy these books.

Then back to Brett Battles, number 11, a continuation from the last. So enjoyable.

Then I found this one on my kindle. I have lots on there that I still have not read. I brought this in 2013 and just started it one night. I had forgotten how funny the bounty hunter books are. And I have another four of this series still to read.

I read another one of this series, number 21 and I found myself again laughing with this one. Laughing is good for the soul.

And then went back to another Michael Connelly book this time, The Reversal.

I have really enjoyed these books. Getting back to reading is good for me health wise. Lets hope this continues. Have lots more to read over the coming months.
