Another travel hack is airport parking. Yes you can use public transport, or friends and family. But my husband and I have always driven to the airport ourselves. And in the last few years, as we have got older, we have prefered to use our nearest airport Stansted for our travels. At this airport they have various different options for parking

For us it depends on the return flight times for which option we choose. The last few trips, we have used the Short Stay car park, which is approximately a five minute walk to the terminal.  This also means, we walk to the airport, yes we walk into the terminal.  And we do not need to wait for a bus to take us back to our car. And if you book at the right time, which for us, is in January. There is not much price difference. It is just a case of being organised !
