After our flight from Xi’an to Chengdu. We were taken straight out to lunch at a local restaurant. After we had finished, the heavens opened and did not stop. Our new local guide, who had named himself after David Beckham had told us, this was a very wet part of China. And you should always carry an umbrella when in Chengdu.

We first visited Jinli Street, one of Chengdu best preserved medieval thoroughfares, lined with buildings dating from the Ming and Qing dynasties, now operating as shops and food outlets. It was a bit too commercialised for me. It was a shame that there were no more things to have seen in Chengdu but our time was limited during this tour.

We stopped for tea in a traditional Chinese tea house. I was not a fan of Chinese Tea.

And walked through the most beautiful park that I have ever seen, Wangjiang Park. This has some of the oldest and largest bamboo that I have seen and I loved my time there.

We went to visit to the Taoist Qing Yang Gong, or Bronze Goat Temple, which is one of the biggest and one of the most famous Taoist in China. It is still a place of worship, so I did not take any photo of the statutes that people still pray too.

I had a lovely couple of days in Chengdu. I am not sure if I would return we will see what happens in our future.
