To celebrate the upcoming release of the highly-anticipated Beauty and the Beast film, The Kensington Hotel have crafted a special themed Afternoon Tea with a magical twist. As soon as I found this online, I knew that my sister, mum and I would love this. And it was a mad panic getting a date booked in ! It booked up so quickly, and then it was extended until November 2017 but still got booked up. Everyone wants to experience this ! We arrived and were taken to our table and it is a lovely hotel but you are in South Kensington.

And then we found these, do they not look adorable !

I asked for a hot chocolate as I am not a big fan of tea and it was delicious. I ended up drinking three cupfuls !

And then the food came out. Firstly we had some savoury delights including a hearty Bite-Sized Venison Pie, Cheese Souffle with Roscoff Onion Pissaladiere, and a rich and delicious Beef Ragu & Saffron Arancini served with Lemon Creme Fraiche.

As an alternative to scones for this Afternoon Tea, Town House will be offering Marie’s Sweet Brioche Baguette with apricot preserve & chocolate pot, referring to the local baker from Belle’s hometown in the film. The sandwiches contained, potted argyle smoked salmon and creme fraiche, roast devon red chicken with cranberry, cucumber and cream cheese and egg mayonnaise and cress. Also included was  vanilla & gold jelly, presented in shot glasses with the ever-symbolic rose petal immersed inside, served with cream poured from Mrs. Potts spout. Other treats include a spiced snow ball macaroon which is coconut & chocolate, referring of course to the classic scene featuring Belle and Beast’s playful snowball fight. Also there was a chocolate clock cart, a chocolate ganache, featuring an image of the lovable Cogsworth’s face on rice paper. Taken from everyone’s favourite song from the film, ‘Be Our Guest’, will be Town House’s ‘Try the Grey Stuff’ White Chocolate Mousse, a dessert recommended by none other than the iconic candle character, Lumiere.

It was a lovely experience, the staff, the food. We all really enjoyed it and was so pleased that we managed to get booked it. The Tale As Old As Time Afternoon Tea is priced from £35 per person and will be available every day from 1st March until November 2017.
