Our second day in New York we started with a trip to the 9/11 memorial museum and this was such a difference from when I was there in 2003.

Then after much confusion at a shopping centre near Fulton Street, we finally got on the Metro down to battery park and we meant to go to and see the Statute of Liberty. But the queue was too long. We picked up our tickets, and they had stated that they were valid for three days. So decided to get the water taxi that took us over to Brooklyn.

After being dropped off at Brooklyn, we went to find Dumbo.

And then got back on the train to Coney Island. So pleased I got there but most of the parks were closed. So we went to the beach and then took the train back to Midtown.

We too the train back to Midtown and thought we would try the Empire State Building for the third time. The queues have been previously been ridiculous. And this time, we walked straight in and the queue was so short, that we managed to visit this and tick this off my mum’s list.

And in the evening, we walked to Times Square and it was heaving with people. There were far to many for my liking. But at least this was another place ticked off !

New York is just amazing and I am pleased that my mum finally got to visit and experience this city.
