My sisters and I surprised my mum with a weekend in Paris. She had always said she wanted to go. And I though why not !

Hotel

Mercure Paris Centre Eiffel Tower was our choice for our trip to Paris. Well, this hotel is around the corner from the Eiffel Tower. This is big plus, as its 5 mins walk to the tower. This hotel states it a 4 star hotel, but I do not agree with this. It felt like a three star, and I would only recommend this to anyone if they wanted to be close to the Eiffel Tower. I found the hotel very easy to find, as I had been to Paris previously. Our room was very small, and I just felt disappointed. Breakfast was an additional 20 Euros per person. The reception staff in the evening, took over an hour and repeated attempts to sort out a problem in the room. For a short visit, this was adequate. But I would not return.

Brasserie De La Tour Eiffel

We had a lovely dinner in this restaurant as you can tell by the name, its very close to the Eiffel Tour. It was literally picked right at the minute we came across it.

I had my usual steak dinner, and my mother had the special cabbage and veal – we did laugh as the waiter had trouble saying the word cabbage and trying to explain the dish. It was a lovely meal. And I would recommend it to anyone staying close to the Eiffel Tower. I think our meals and drinks came to about £70. Which is not bad for a city.
