LONDON, GREENWICH, THE CUTTY SARK – AMAZING !

Cutty Sark is a British clipper ship. Built on the River Clyde in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line, she was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development, which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion. WOW – this is beautiful. This is the world’s sole surviving tea clipper. Initially built for the China tea trade and launched in 1869.  As part of a six-year conservation project, it has now been raised over three meters. You enter on the lower hold, and learn about the tea trade.

You then go up to the Tween deck, where there are historic artefacts.

You then go up to the main deck. I enjoyed this, as I am not a fan of moving boats. I like cruises, but get terrible sea sickness on anything smaller. So this was perfect, I am unlikely to ever be in this position again.
