We then drove onto Mostar. When we arrived, we had a tour guide explaining the history, as you can see straight away the Ottoman influence in the surrounding buildings. The word “Mostari” literally means bridge keeper. The original bridge was built in 1557. In November 1993, the Croatian army bombed the bridge for days which caused it to collapse.
